Brooks Alan Whitney, M.D., F.A.C.SAfter completing his training at Baylor College of Medicine, Dr. Brooks Whitney joined Georgia Vascular Clinic to study under his father, Dr. Douglass G. Whitney—a pioneer in Atlanta vascular surgery. In 1997, he was the first physician to perform carotid stenting at St. Joseph’s Hospital, and later performed the first stent graft alongside Dr. Douglass Whitney and Dr. Joseph Zarge of GVC.
Dr. Whitney prides himself on providing all forms of vascular treatment for his patients—from medical management, to stenting, to surgery. He is also proud of his practice’s commitment to long-term medical care of its patients. Several of his current patients first visited GVC in the early 1980’s.
Dr. Whitney has 13 years of experience in vascular surgery, and is involved with diagnostic catheter and intravenous modalities of angioplasty, stenting, and stent grafts. He is a member of the Michael E. DeBakey International Surgical Society, the Medical Association of Georgia, the Medical Association of Atlanta, the Atlanta Vascular Society, the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons, the International Society of Endovascular Specialists, and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
